In group situations, some who would not be sexual predators on their own will become such in conformity with group norms. Such small groups of males become particularly dangerous to women and girls when they are in positions of power. Gang-rape becomes all to easy, easy to commit and easy to get away with. One of the things that so often goes wrong is that men in positions of authority over such gangs of sexual predators are either too naive to recognize the ever-present potentiality for such behavior, or turn a blind eye because they secretly sympathize with the group norms that provide positive sanctions for gang-rape.
