Indeed. But most intellectuals simply take eveolution for granted
without bothering to think about any of the consequences of accepting
it.

For example, very few note that at some point in time action, in a very
simple and linear sense, had to precede thought. And what was true for
the species (or for some ancestral species) is also true in the life of
each individual: wherever and whenever (s)he finds him/herself she is
always already caught up in a web of social relations, and in action.
