I of course agree. It would be hard to imagine neural activity having
the geometrical shape of an aroma, much less of the construal of a
metaphor. :-)

But the fact that such a literal mirroring effect occurs in visual
perception does suggest to me that discussions of knowledge,
subjectivity, etc. ought not to be as entirely innocent of neurological
concern as they often seem to be.

There has to be some trace of neural activity in any thought.
