He condemns Blair/Bush for Iraq attack, but he knows not why he condemns them. He is yet to provide a single argument. Thats reflexivity for you! When and if you respond, Mike, make sure that you provide the listers with a concrete case of having altered at least one of your genes, which would enhance the credibility of your argument, otherwise, it remains vacuous. There are billions who have come and gone philosophizing, intellectualizing. Results, results, results! Show them." I'll tell you what Shiv, get a shotgun and as a biological/genetic experiment, blow one of your balls off... Then write down your observations and send them to the list. If you do this you can be sure that you will have altered quite a few of your genes and you will have also experienced a gun shot wound and maybe post traumatic stress disorder PTSD, which may give you some EMPATHY regarding the disgraceful conduct of the Waffen US in Falluja and the USraeli's in Palestine. This can mean changing our genetics Tobin Nellhaus wrote: your rhetorical question merely reveals your own ham-fisted ignorance. Both have provided with further intellectual husks. Mike Jones argument about genetics is misleading. It deserves to be oppugned in the strongest possible terms for it oversimplifies complex reality. Genetics is employed inaccurately without an iota of understanding what it means. Genes antecede homo sapiens and have autonomous properties. According to technology companies, such as Incyte and Human Genome Sciences, there are sequences of over 100,000 genes. Although the exact figure is disputable, but that is a secondary issue. Mike, of these, how many have you altered so far by reflexivity/contemplation whatever that means. I am disinterested in ambiguous, abstract statements. Experimental evidence is better than a rational argument. Come on, lets hear some experimental evidence, if you have any. No person comes to planet earth of his volition. You dont have a clue which sperm, of millions, fertilizes the egg and produces a zygote. Thats life! Full of stochastic possibilities. In that zygote are determined all properties of the infant. Add them all and thats society. Society itself is based on biological mechanisms. Israel, Palestine, Iraq, ..Day in, day out, the biological mechanisms are playing themselves out through the medium of humans. So much for reflexivity! Tim Murphys case is pertinent here. He condemns Blair/Bush for Iraq attack, but he knows not why he condemns them. He is yet to provide a single argument. Thats reflexivity for you! There are billions who have come and gone philosophizing, intellectualizing. Results, results, results! Show them. Tobin, just because a question is rhetorical does not render it insignificant, just as a tautological statement is not necessarily wrong. I can wager, both of you can spend the rest of your life, contemplating altering your genes, but with no results.. Shiv --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
