Dear all,

I have published an article in the journal Philosophica (71, 2003) on CR
and methodological pluralism in the social sciences. The article, entitled
"Realistic Models: Critical Realism and Statistical Models in the Social
Sciences", questions the scepticism of critical realist philosophers
regarding the use of statistical models in applied research, and represents
in a certain sense a return to a long-standing debate on the list. If
anybody is interested, it is possible to download a PDF from the web site
for critical realism (thanks Wallace!):

There are also a couple of other articles in the journal on CR, as you can
see from the contents page which I have included at the beginning of the
aforementioned pdf.

I would be very interested in receiving any comments or feedback that list
members might have.

Thanks,
