BTW, the two photos w/ Blanchot & Levinas mentioned here can also be
found in the Cahiers De L'Herne dedicated to Levinas.

But why all the fuss? MB has always wanted the privacy of his person
guarded. What he was public about was literature, books. Jabes told me
how after MB had written the masrvelous pieces that got EJ's BOOK OF
QUESTIONS noticed, & after they had several long and pleasant phone
conversations, how Jabes then sugested they should get together for
coffee or lunch -- & how MB found this inconceivable, there was he
said, no point or need for them to meet face to face, the writing said
it all.
