Subject: MB: Blanchot study

Dear,

A colleague of mine accidentally found your information about the
Blanchot-forum in Internet. I'm actually working on a
doctorateproject in which I will compare and confront the works of
Levinas and Blanchot.
Upon the first, I wrote a dissertation in 1993 to obtain my degre in
philosophy in the Institute of Philosophy in Leuven. I've been
studying Levinas in relation with a hermeneutical context (Heidegger
and Ricoeur served as background). I also try in this paper written
in Dutch to correlate and to distinguish the philosophical reflexion and the
Talmud-interpretation.
Upon the second, I wrote a few months ago a dissertation to obtain a
degre in Roman languages. I analysed all the unknown texts of the '30
and tried to show how the reflexion on literature has its origine in
a revolutionary ideal. In this paper written in French, I discuss
also the interpretation given by Mehlman in 1983.
In my doctorate, I will ask for the differences between Levinas and
Blanchot, given that the complementariness of the two thinkers seems
to be a statement since the famous book of Francoise Collin on
Blanchot. I also will discuss the limites of the pilosophical
reflexion and the relation between the reflexif turn and the literary
one.
I'm of course interested in your forum. Please can you update me by
e-mailing the new researchwork and publications on Blanchot? If you
are interested in my work or in one of the two texts mentionned
above, I'm willing to send them up, or an article summarizing my
work.
Thanks for jour attention,
yours faithfully,

Arthur Cools
