I think there is rather a play on Hebrew letters and words.  EL is a 
term (abbreviation) for God (El, Elohim), Ya is common and part of the 
other word for God, Yahweh; Hence, Elya, Yael, Aely.  Let's call it
three anagrams on syllables referring to the Hebrew God.
