Chris,

i am quite sure blanchot was very familiar with heidegger (if not the texts
directly, then through his close friend e. levinas). Ann Smock suggests a great
deal of familiarity in her introduction to the translation of _L'Esace
literaire_ and Rappaport briefly discusses blanchot's influence on levinas'
reading of heidegger in his book on heidegger and derrida. This, however, is
secondary literature. what would be interesting is a reading through blanchot
for "heideggerian" -- i think there is a danger of over-using or even using this
term -- tropes.
