It is true these confirmations are useless and annoying, but they are
not sent by a person; they are generated automatically when a person
using the Pegasus mail program reads a message sent by another person
who was also using Pegasus and whose Pegasus had the "confirmation
requested" feature turned on.  I believe, however, that I have fixed
the problem by modifying our version of the majordomo software (which 
is the software used by this list) so as to make it filter out the header 
lines whose presence triggers the confirmation messages.  You may see a
few more RCPT Confirm messages as more people read the original message 
which has caused this slew, but after that -- I hope -- no new problems 
of this sort will arise.  I hope.
