Subject: MB: availability of b's fiction in english?

Well, I'm new to this list, but haven't seen any activity on it since I
subscribed two weeks ago. Perhaps everyone is on summer vacation? :)

Question: I have been trying, very unsuccesfully, to find some of Blanchot's
fiction in English. I have asked small, large, specialized, etc. bookstores
to order for me, and they all come back with the same answer "Can't get it"
However, I did amazingly happen to find a copy of _Thomas the Obscure_
printed by Station Hill in a bookstore the other day, so I know these books
should be out there somewhere. Does anyone know of a dedicated, specialized
book company who can find these books? If I get really desperate, I will go
to German translations, but won't to save that as a drastic measure!

On another note, I recently finished a two year project resulting in a thesis
on the works of Franz Kafka (have patience, Blanchot is in here too). I
adopted and adapted Blanchot's ideas about literature to look at spatial
structures of consciousness and author-text relationships in _The Trial_,
_The Castle_, and "The Burrow." Does anyone know of engllish-text works
where critics have written about works from the ball park area of Blanchot's
ideas? Would love to talk about this . . . would like to see how close I
came to "grasping" the essence of Blanchot's thought.
