This is, I think, an interesting question.  I'm one of those that think Blanchot's impact on Foucault's thinking has not
yet been adequately explored -- it seems enormous to me.  Foucault certainly seems to mean to pay hommage to Blanchot in
his little piece.  Blanchot's companion piece is really quite interesting; it wouldn't surprise me if Foucault was a bit
disappointed by it.  
	In any case, what has always strikes me about Foucault's reading of Blanchot is that he seems to 'purify' and
'essentialize' Blanchot in order to find a sort of pristine space of exteriority.  One thing that seems missing in his
reading of Blanchot is any sense of the work, the destiny of writing, and reading.
