Subject: MB: Academics Date: Wed, 10 Mar 1999 20:43:00 +0000 I find this obsession with the academic and non-academic divide troubling. I can think of nowhere in Blanchot's writings any attack on academics. Perhaps the only place he does discuss it is at the beginning of Infinite Conversation, but even there he says that it is important and he in no way wishes to deny it. This is not to say there is nothing wrong with universities and that there isn't any bad academic writing, but I imagine there is bad poetry as well Stawla.
