Subject: MB: Re: Blanchot and post-colonial film Date: Thu, 15 Apr 2004 19:42:05 +0200 Concerning Blanchot's texts on "the visual" or the invisual or the vision , you can consult, for example, the pages titled "L'image" in the chapter "La solitude essentielle" or "Les deux versions de l'imaginaire " in L'espace litteraire, and "Parler, ce n'est pas voir" in L'entretien infini. You can find the interesting point of view on "the visual" in his other texts too. However, for the theme of film, a french magazine on film "Trafic" editions, P.O.L, no 49, printemps 2004)published recently an interesting and supprising lettre of Blanchot to a "young cineast" (written in 1986). I recommend you to read this letter if you think of the relationship of Blanchot to "film". (I have no idea for his relationship to "Post-colonial". But why "Blanchot's relationship to Post-colonial film theory" ?) Excuse-me for my awkward English. Anything on Blanchot and race or 'the visual', address separately, by him or others, would also work. I would even appreciate general strategies or thoughts on how to broach the topic. > > Thanks, > > Lee Laskin > > UCI > > > > > > ------------------------------------------ > Free yourself from those irritating pop-up ads > ------------------------------------------ > With MSN Premium > ------------------------------------------ > Get 2 Months FREE* > ------------------------------------------ > > > --- StripMime Warning -- MIME attachments removed --- > This message may have contained attachments which were removed. > > Sorry, we do not allow attachments on this list. > > --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- > text/html (html body -- converted) > --- >
