Hi everybody!

I'm a Ph.D. student in education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in
Education, University of Toronto, Canada. I've been attracted to
Bourdieu's critical analysis of how everyday life and the schooling
process are related to the construction and perpetuation of dominant social
relations and access to the resources of the society. I'm also interested
in social practice theory (Jean Lave) which seems to be looking to
Bourdieu for theoretical insights. I find this on-line reading group
idea fascinating and would like to join in... my knowledge of
Bourdieu is preliminary, and would like to benefit from the
discussions here.

Best wishes,
Angel

Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet,
Till Earth and Sky stand presently at God's great Judgment Seat;
But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth,
When ... we stand face to face in the cyber space? ...
