So, what would I like to see on this list, if I too am not to unsub*scribe? To be honest, I am not that interested in "Bourdieu" as such--its what his ideas and terminology allow me to do with my research materials that I have read a half-dozen of his books and a few articles. My research requires that I articulate a flexible interpretive explanation of the phenomenon of bowing (whether Japanese businessmen, Buddhist monks and nuns, etc.) in East Asia. Probably a boring subject for many of you. But I'm sure you can all think of bits of PB's works that are stimulating in this regard. I guess my question would then be, what are you using PB for? What "objective" data are you casting a PB-informed eye on, and why? Is anyone working on tattoos (I mean, writing about them)? Eric Reinders, ucsb
