I'm more and more struck with the presumption of Durkheim's concepts - about
social consciousness under divided labour - as a logical precursor of B's
concepts of field , capital and habitus.  I find D.'s perspective more lucid,
perhaps only because it's  more familiar.  It suggests the limit of fields is
provided by the division of labour, both horizontally in the now and vertically
in the historical.
