Subject: History and novelty

But what is the difference in the two traditions? The Anglo-American is
conventionally regarded as predominantly empirical - which suggests that
perception based on conventional categories underlies the world-view - ie what
is seen as a problem, how it is discussed and what is taken to be true. D-G
cerainly reject such conventional categories -in which case how can the two
world views be brought in touch with one another? Yet here must be the
possibility of challenging one in terms of the other if they are both seen as
cognate. How else does one evaluate D-G except by reference to everyday
reality?
