Subject: Aesthetic Representation

I came across what struck me as such a wonderful quotation in relation to
aesthetic representation just now that I feel like emailing it around the
world! It is from a paper (by J.A. Notopoulos) on oral literature and is to
be found on p.236, footnote 41, of Pierre Bourdieu's Outline of a Theory of
Practice.

"The poet is the incarnate book of the oral people."
