Dear Roger,

Yes I have just returned from the CR conf.  In fact, I think we bumped
into each other there at some point.  I'm interested in whether Bourdieu
has a realist ontology underpinning his approach as I'm undecided as yet.
He seems to move back and forth between weak forms of social
constructionism and weak forms of realism.  Clarity in my mind isn't
helped by his claims to do x, y, z which I then find repeated in
commentaries, and his use of the word 'science' without that clear a
definition.
