(in this case, symbolic capital is the gold) 2) reflecting on this fact is part of the Bourdieuvian deal in being a good intellectual. kingsley asserts that _all of us_ (i don't agree) are being unreflective in presenting our own approaches to knowledge construction as truth. I think Kingsley uses the master's tools (heh heh), the gobbledygook of academic discourse, to enhance his own legitimacy as a constructor of knowledge. AS MUST WE ALL, I might add. Poor Kingsley is not alone, nor is he doing something outside of the practices that are demanded of him given his own position in this field (hee hee). _Academic Discourse_ (Bourdieu, Passeron, & Saint Martin) is a wonderful SLIM volume that speaks to these sorts of things.
