I agree totally, which means we not succumb to the spontaneous sociology of 
common language which tries to erase language as if it were a transparent 
medium....He took/takes a position outside of the easy opposition of 
academia and practice...you just have to watch...I can teach him to 
undergrads without using the language too much...but in this social space 
there is no place for "translation". translation is a  way of making 
equivalencies that perpetuates the symbolic violence of the academy and 
capitalism. If you want to understand it...read the shit...don't rely on 
easy sound bites....and don't make us feel guilty for not being "clear" or 
"simple" which is the logic of sound bites and facism..easy answers. Perhpas 
this sounds like Nietzschian aristocractic values, but those are the 
oppositions we must live with and assume responsibility for.
