simon,

asking questions is not discrediting B. when they are asked in good faith or 
worship and if it matters I agree with you totally. As for dennis... data 
schamta..we are swamped with data from both the academia end and mass 
media...which is actually indinguigable...psychology has been ruined by 
statistics whose object,which ignores the social, looks for some invariant 
or something to publish.  B's contribution is not the minutia of statistics 
but a larger project which some fail to recognize and as B. says displays 
itself as ressentment or "envy". if Bourdieu were to be read or remembered 
as stat. guy that would be horrible.....somebody needs to read some 
philosophy
