Actually, I sent the posting in a huff, and was not my usual calm and zenlike self. Plus, I have all sorts of problems with this blasted email problem and the server and got wound up when I sat there for five minutes several times in a row, and each time all it was doing was downloading messages sent a minute or two apart, all responding to the same email message. As for the unsubscribing. I do recall it. It wasn't so much our ding-dong (a nice description), but the zillion messages sent during it, again most of which were as I describe. I wouldn't want to stop or discourage anyone from posting ... this is one of the few listservs I'm not which is currently active. It's just sometimes one can get tired of reading Bloggs Re: whatever 7.21 a.m. Bloggs Re: whatever 7.22 a.m and so on. Indeed, I've a feeling that this discourages others from reading them. One can be tempted to bin the lot. Anyway, have a nice time at the coast - try not to catch too many diseases!
