Karl: OK I seemed to have missed your answer entirely, although I did not
read Zorba's interlocutor as wanting to suggest that philosophy was a waste
of time. Rather you seemed to be saying (like Zorba's friend, like Qoheleth,
like Pascal, like Bourdieu's Pascal, like Jacques Ellul on Qoheleth) that
philosophical reflection must be thought also at its own limit ... to reckon
with its place in something bigger than just philosophy ... thanks for your
comment and thanks for your clarification. I hope this clarifies my positive
view on what you said ...
