XXII, n. 67, 1984), and François He'ran, *La seconde nature de l'habitus. Tradition philosophique et sens commun dans le langage sociologique* (Revue Française de Sociologie, vol. XXVIII, n. 3, 1987). They do not say much about Aristotle, but are two of the very few works which deal with the history of the concept. As far as Arostotle's hexis, an interesting analysis which can be useful also for Bourdieu is the one by E'mile Benveniste in *Proble'mes de linguistique ge'ne'rale*, chapter VI.
