Bobby, Bobby, Bobby ... what are we going to do with you?

A word of advice. Try not to use "Your point is?" again -- it's hackneyed. And
never, never, use the Smiley symbol again. It makes you look bad. You're better
than that. You're a Word Child, remember?

If you want to play the game -- as you obviously do -- you'll have to learn the
rules. Not for me to teach you. All I can say is that e-mail discussion lists,
or this form, are one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced. Quite
astonishingly expressive. My non-academic friends -- all graduates and some of
them highly intelligent people -- say to me when I become excited about the list
games, "Why bother?". To which I reply that it's the sport of kings. There's
almost, dare I say it, a sexual element in it -- and this is not just a matter
of shafting yet another pompous n*tw*t.

Enough of this. I can't stand here chatting to you. Good luck with the
Leibnizian 'reading' of Bourdieu. Remember to look up those list archives.

Time to go.

Simon
