Subject: Bourdieu and the toys

Dear friends,

I am journalist and I work at the National Museum of History in Rio de
Janeiro (you can visit our site at http://www.visualnet.com.br/mhn). I am
doing now my doctorat in Information Science and I have chosen to study
the toy as source of information , using our collection at the museum as a
case.

Pierre Bourdieu and its concepts of habitus, the formation of the cultural
field, the museums' researches as "L'Amour de L'Art", the educational
system's considerations are really very important to me.

I never though that he would have something specifically about toys, but
reading the "La Distinction - critique sociale du jugement" I discovered at
'L'habitus et l'espace des styles de vie" (pgs. 246-7) interesting
considerations about the toys market and its role at the society.

So, I would like to know if someone has seen at his work any other
observation about this matter ...

Thank you very much and it's really a pleasure to follow this list,

Angela Cardoso Guedes
