Thanks for this great obituari.
I briefly read a petition that came out the day before yesterday signed 
by 60 or so U.S. 'intelectuals' about the U.S. right on warfare and the 
universality of the U.S. value$. 
I wonder if someone has some comment on this. What are the reasons and 
orchestration behind this social phenomenon? Is it a message for the 
U.S. citizens or for those of other countries? Does it have something to 
do with the plans towards Irak? And what is the reason behind this? Has 
the Lone Ranger raised from the grave?
It seems that in some countries the chances of succes in a political 
carreer depends less on cultural capital then in others. Is this 
positive or is this a kind of inflation?
