From: "Wilkes, Chris" <wilkesc-AT-pacificu.edu> Subject: RE: more on habitus and school Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2003 15:00:03 -0700 I have just finished watching 'Sociology is a Martial Art', the film about Bourdieu completed about a year before his death. I'd recommend it for any newcomers to the intellectual area, and as a guidepost to the theoretical and political work Bourdieu engaged it. My reaction was provoked by Sandra's post on being a first year student and having to confront the Bourdieuian theoretical edifice all at once. > ---------- > From: Sandra > Reply To: bourdieu-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu > Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2003 10:39 PM > To: bourdieu-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu > Subject: more on habitus and school > > Thanks for all the responses to my previous question re habitus and > schools.
