Subject: The habitus of the Bourdieu scholar


Kent, What I meant is that B. himself complained well and often that others 
didn't read his work in its entirety or situate it in its historical 
trajectory.  It could be argued that this behavior (objectively right or 
wrong is not the point) set the stage for how oldtimers on a list dedicated 
to talking about Bourdieu and his work, conduct themselves when bringing 
newbies into their community.

And the second comment referred to your critique of "maceducation" in 
America.  It hasn't been only the Americans complaining about the 
difficulties of slogging through some B. texts.
