In "Propositions pour l'enseignment de l'avenir" authored under the 
direction of Bourdieu in 1985 there is an Appendix of the basic principles 
on which future education in France should be based.  The very first 
principle is the following:

1. L'unité de la science et la pluralité des cultures.  Un enseignement 
harmonieux doit pouvoir concilier l'universalisme inhérent a la pensée 
scientifique et le relativisme qu'ensignement les sciences humaines, 
attentives a la pluralité des modes de vie, des sagesses et des 
sensibilités culturelles.
