I draw the line however when such drivel serves to trivialize the Shoah. As I wrote before, I don't like the Holocaust industry, but I abhor the anti-Holocaust industry. The latter includes not only hard-core "deniers"-- who in fact know perfectly well that the catastrophe occurred but who choose to taunt and unsult survivors and their kin -- but the soft-core contingent as well: genteel antisemites, googoos and plain nitwits. Richard Koenigsberg, hereafter Dr. LOSS, is in one of the last two categories, degree notwithstanding. When no distinction is made between the planned annihilation of millions of people (involving tremendous outlays of scarce resources in the midst of war in order to send every last Jewish-born nun and every last Jew on the smallest of Greek islands to Auschwitz) and the cynical indifference to the _unintended_ deaths of other millions, we are face-to-face with the cynicism of trivialization. And when we're told that the Shoah occurred "in order enact the repressed experience of war, to depict the horrific fate of a body that has been given to, taken over by the collective" we're face-to-face with someone who seems to have no idea whatever of the distinction between confirmable propositions and tearoom bebbitzing. None of this low-level pap belongs on a list devoted to the work of a giant such as Bourdieu. Norman Miller Library of Social Science wrote: > Yes, the Holocaust actually occurred. > > Rather than discuss someone's fantasies about the Holocaust, why not > actually read my paper on SACRIFICIAL MEANING OF THE HOLOCAUST that > contains, I believe, a revolutionary explanation of WHY THE HOLOCAUST > OCCURRED, and moves toward tackling the question of the meaning of > COLLECTIVE VIOLENCE UNDERTAKEN IN THE NAME OF NATION-STATES. > > The paper may be found at the website below. > > Best regards, > > Richard Koenigsberg > > ____________________________________________________________ > > Library of Social Science > 92-30 56th Avenue, Suite 3-E, Elmhurst, NY 11373, USA > > Fax: 1-413-832-8145 > > Richard A.
