I'm not sure your joke shows much honourable understanding. On a Boudieu
list that has now run its course and looking for a new home it looks like a
"hit 'n run" cop out which can only backfire on you.

I suspect Bourdieu himself would have some useful discussion to provide on
self-loathing and suffering, on persecution and the perception of
persecution (even if it is misperception). So let's ditch put downs can we.
I don't think Jessica's misunderstanding has been probed actually, and
certainly not with the skills and hints that Bourdieu provides to those who
wish to utilise his philosophical orientation.

If anyone reading Job - sorry upset those who may believe in the sacred
secular neutrality of Bourdieu-lists by mentioning a book from an ancient
sacred text of alternative religious orientation - Jew, Christian-Jew,
gentile who believes that the suffering servant has indeed come or anyone
else who may take up the book - they might indeed recognise Job's ancient
historical lament.for their own and the suffering of the entire created
order along with it. This is no proof text except to say that Job - even if
he did predate Abraham made a lament which still has a place of honour in
the Hebrew scriptures - and indeed he did hate himself and I suspect there
may be a few of us on this dying list who yet believe his lament can in fact
throw discussion of Jessica's misunderstanding into a much more positive
direction.
 .
Job 9:15-21
15. Though I am innocent, I cannot answer him; I must appeal for mercy to my
accuser.
16 If I summoned him and he answered me, I would not believe that he was
listening to my voice.
17 For he crushes me with a tempest, and multiplies my wounds without
cause;
18 he will not let me get my breath, but fills me with bitterness.
19 If it is a contest of strength, behold him! If it is a matter of
justice, who can summon him?
20 Though I am innocent, my own mouth would condemn me; though I am
blameless, he would prove me perverse.
21 I am blameless; I regard not myself; I loathe my life.
