Subject: New Guattari translation

Just a brief note to let everyone know that a new Guattari translation is
soon to be published by Autonomedia. My information is second-hand, but
probably reliable; a friend who distributes radical books received the cover
in a package from Autonomedia as a preview. (Incidentally, he mentioned that
it has a picture of F.G. surrounded by the typical James Koehnline/Sue Ann
Harkey art that illustrates their books. Personally, I find their taste
in cover art better in concept than execution - witness the silly cover
of their recently-published translation of P. Clastres' _Archaeology of
Violence_. On the other hand, it does one a service in warning one away
from such travesties as Rolando Perez's _On (An)archy and Schizoanalysis_.)

Anyway, my friend said the book is entitled _Chaosophy_, which could be a
translation of 1992's _Chaosmose_ (although why the name change I know not),
or maybe another _Mol. Rev._ type anthology (which of course begs the
question: will it be another "execrable translation"?).

Finally, I have never introduced myself, so perhaps I will take this
opportunity to do so. I am currently in limbo between grad. and undergrad.
studies, with my last project having been a long thesis on Deleuze and
Norbert Wiener and Monique Wittig and a whole mess of other things. I am
of the "hey, why does Guattari always get the short end of the stick?"
mentality. I enjoy the work of A.N. Whitehead. I work at a copy store, where
I definitely do not make multiple copies of out-of-print books by Antonio
Negri which I give to my friends. Maybe someday I will post the excellent
pieces from the "Homage to Felix Guattari" that I found in a literary
magazine my friend J. had, including "On God" by F.G., and a timeline/
bibliography of his work.

Alejandro.
