sorry Malgosia, i forgot to answer a few of your question. yes the
difference between material and spiritual or virtual repetition is
the differnce between the mechanical and the machinic (i think it is
anyway). this is also the difference between the eternal return of the same
(as cyclical repetition) and the eternal return of the dionysian world,
that is to say, of difference. Deleuze - when writing of habit and what
makes possible our concept of the same and the general - uses the word
series instead of cycle (a series is a synthesis that nonetheless remains
a multiplicity in AO). 

Deleuze describes the topology of time in FOUCAULT and THE FOLD.
