RE:Theology -- I cannot resist, I cannot help myself. Here are a couple
of (ir)relevant quotes/paraphrases:
"God is a concept... by which we measure our pain." -- John Lennon, "God",1970
After a long mathematical discourse in which it was difficult to know
where the REAL left off and the SURREAL began (without a strong mathematical
background), Dr Faustroll proved that God is the tangential point between
zero and infinity. -- Alfred Jarry, _Gestes et opinions du docteur Faustroll,
pataphysicien_, 1911 (first publication).
Now a possibly more serious observation from the Shaykhi school of Shi'i
Islam which was taken up by the Babis and the Baha'is: God as the Creator
is incapable of being known by Creation as to know or comprehend requires
the surrounding of the concept by the mind and the Created's mind is
incapable of surrounding the Creator. Anything that can be inscribed to
God by anyone who is Created is therefore insufficient.
Just my tuppence worth, Ted
