Subject: A Deleuzean Reading of Poke salad

Dear Hoot Owl: Your threat of the use of roots against "yankees" does'nt
wash. When did you start thinking us northerners would be impressed?
Come on, Owl,(I)'ll come down there and we can relax around a campfire
and drink some elderberry wine and eat some "poke" and talk about the
nomads and how intuitive they are. Poke (genus Phytolacca) is delicious
boiled in two waters with some scrambled eggs and fatback! And did you
know that the compounds found in the dried root are extremely effective
against Herpes simplex 1 virus? Cold sores. On my 50,000 mile hitchiking
journey, (I) had to eat plenty of it when hungry. Country boys do
survive! Ron H.
