evan,

the idea would be that hegemony is never really in question, that power is
never total, that it's intensifications also intensify lines of flight.  that
something is a commodity does not mean that, in it, a major language does not
become minor, for example.  notice the differential distibution of the races
in the capitalist machine, and then see that the "transactions" are complex,
especially if they involve  simultaneous commodification  of and by the
"marginalized" group.  they reterritorialize that group into the "mainstream"
and deterritorialize those in the central location
