Yes, but I get the impression that McLuhan doesn't mean it in quite that
sense - he seems to be saying that media ENHANCE the individual organism,
making it more powerful; not really a deterritorialization. I'm interested
in how McLuhan's (great) insights into the mechanisms of the privileging of
sight can be understood from a more "Butlerian" slant. His "biology"
sometimes seems a bit superficial, if you like!
