nick,
good on yu. Eric Alliez, La Signature Du Monde Ou Qu'est-ce que la
Philosophie de Deleuze et Guattari (Paris: editions du CERF, 1993, partic.
section 3 "onto-ethologiques) is one of the very few writers (he was
apparently a student of Deleuze) to have emphasised the importance of
Whitehead (and Ruyer) in d/g's work. Whitehead
'surveys/surviews/overviews/survole' the conclusion to 'What is Philosophy'.
Ruyer constantly refers to him and Guattari's 'existential grasping'
(Chaosmosis p. 113) _is_ Whiteheads' process of concrescence (see
Cartographies Schizoanalytiques, p. 82.):

"A.N. Whitehead uses the term 'grasp' in order to define processes of
'concrescence: 'the ground, or origin, of the concrescent process is the
multiplicity of data in the universe, actual entities and eternal objects
and propositios and nexus. Each new phase in the concrescence means the
retreat of mere propositional unity before the growing _grasp_ of of real
unity of feeling'". Guattari quoting W. from Process and Reality, 1978, p.22.

I resonate with your remarks on 'deconstruction'. Can anyone on the list
explain Derrida's approach to perception ('there is no such thing') or
subjectivity in less than 20 words. In other words, what is subjectivity for
derrida? Maybe I should approach the derrida list. Oouch, never.

But maybe it's too easy to get wound up in all the cross-references or
'intertextuality'. Yuk. Fundamentality (sous rature) what d/g propose is a
sorceric pragmatic philosophy concerned with the manipulation of awareness
(Castenada). That there are resonances with Leibniz, Whitehead, Ruyer,
Bergson, or X is secondary to sorcery or nagualism.
"Every warrior on the path of knowledge thinks, at one time or another, that
he's learning sorcery, but all he or she is doing is allowing themselves to
be convinced of is the power hidden in their being, and that they can reach
it". (The Power of Silence).
I better shut up.
Paul.
