For some interesting commentary on stelarc, check out _Hiding_ by Mark
Taylor, Univ. of Chicago, 1997.  There is an entire chapter, printed on
very thin light green paper, that deals with skin and modifications of
skin. Stelarc also forms the cover of the book, you just have to look
closely.
