Anthony,
We have no trouble in identifying the boundaries of mountains, or 
continents even though they flow - they flow noticeably only on the 
geological scale (if thats not tautologous?) - its a welt or umwelt 
problem - everything flows (pure metaphysics), but whether something 
appears to flow or not is a specific question of relations & affects. 
For a tick there are only two flows; one of warm hairy things and time - 
and if one becomes blocked then the other is too, as it "hibernates".
