I am not sure that this translation will really help you,
first, I am not sure to catch exactly what the
metaphysical allusions of the text refers to.
secondly, i am french speaking and i do not practice my written english
as much as i should... so it may sound a little strange.

The "Passe mystérieuse" (? maybe "vital force" ? i don't know what word would be appropriate. It's a very idiosyncratic use of the word passe)
is a passe (? energy ?) functionning in a very mysterious and wonderful way.
How could it have an identifiable place? It hasn't its place in the body
and should not be search for outside of it. If you focus on the body,
you only get aware of things.
It's only the place where the four elements (les quatre Grands) and the five Agents (?)
are no more visible. I will use an image to make it quite clear.
In some respect, it is the same as a puppet. The thousand ways it moves its feet
and its hands, the thousand ways it jumps,
all start up in the strings and are, actually, the master's power.
The puppet is, like the body, made up of mixed elements; the string has got the
"passe mystérieuse", and the master is like Nature. The puppet cannot move without its strings and, similarly, man cannot move if he doesn't have the "passe mystérieuse".

I hope this will help.
