Did D&G sample Durkheim for their notion of "segmentarity"?

I've been reading some Durkheim and it's fascinating although unfortunately
alot of his ideas about primitive societies are wrong. Or at least they seem
to refer to peasant societies engaging in agriculture ... his idea that all
people are alike in tribal societies just doesn't wash ... they're more
individual than anyone ... but the individualness doesn't divide them ...

any thoughts?
