The hysteria is about bringing everything back to an organised 'complete' body - I would also say that I think (suspect?) that the market itself is driven by the self-same hysteria (ie - the desire to maintain the "natural" body as a whole (ideal) couples with economic thinking of late 'disposable' capitalism: "oh my kidney no longer works - quick get the yellow pages and I'll order new one!) The question comes back to how/where that 'market' is created once the desire/demand for such a convenience is manifested. Should science/tech be looking towards the vulnerabilities of 'other' peoples (socially) in developing transplant technique or should it be looking towards bio-technological developments as in artificially created organs? Personally I'd rather be a cyborg than a body-snatcher (even if it is only partial). Certainly this is all about bodies, however, and not BwO - which I would think happens at the limits of (the limitless) possibilities for/of the body seeking continuum. Does that make sense?
