From: 106720.3466-AT-CompuServe.COM Date: Wed, 1 Oct 1997 04:03:27 -0400 Subject: PKF: Openess Hello, Today many people talk about "openess", in art, philosophy...etc. As animal of searching "meanings", human beings try to get the biggest possibility of meanings through association, deconstruction...etc. Because of the concept of "openess of meanings", some people believe that there is not any absolut or relative values on things like art, literature..etc. I think, they believe on democracy and through it trying to reduce all the values to "primitive values" (I mean, values like primary matter), with which (like instrument) everything or every meaning could be created. I accept the idea of "openess" or "openess of meaning" and "democracy" but I doubt about this process of reduction to primitive values and this "instrumental relation" between creat and be created. By the way, some people says, democracy bases on the concept of quantity but ignore the problem of quality. It is interesting! I just want to share what I thought lately, but I don't represent or belong to any trend.
