G'day Robert

Welcome to PKF! It's been very quiet around here lately, but perhaps
your interesting intro will provide fuel for some discussion (or is that
the wrong metaphor - I didn't mean it was appropriate for flames!)

I'd suggest two possible places where you might start reading Paul's
work. If you're more interested in the philosophy of science, start with
'Against Method' (1975?). If you're more interested in the man, start
with 'Killing Time' (1995?), his autobiography. Then again, from the
interests you described, perhaps 'Science in a Free Society' would be a
good starting point, although that book takes off from 'Against
Method',... Whichever way you go, you're in for a treat: he was a
fascinating and often very funny writer.

Speaking for myself only, I don't regard mentioning a book or article
one has written as spam, so long as the post contributes to the
discussion, and there's no solicitation to actually buy the item. I have
mentioned published papers here myself, as have others.

(Speaking of which, I was informed this week that a paper I wrote
exploring the way educational researchers tend to use philosophy of
science as a referent, and suggesting that Feyerabend's work might be a
more powerful referent than that of Popper and Kuhn has been accepted
for publication in the Educational Researcher - I'll let the list know
when it appears.) (See your plug and raise you a shameless
self-promotion!)

Apropos of 'The Jesus Zygote', I've often wondered myself whether the
half of Jesus' DNA from Mary was visible, and the half from the Holy
Spirit invisible! Too scientistic and reductionist an approach for the
miracle of the incarnation, I'm sure!

Once again, welcome to the conversation,

David
