Dear list,

I was very pleasantly surprised this morning to receive my first mail from
the list. I joined two weeks ago but since I hadn't received anything I was
reluctant to introduce myself straight away.
I have to admit, I read Robert Basso's message several times until I was
convinced of what was being said. English is my native language so I don't
have any excuse.
David's answer convinced me to write, then I got side tracked with fixing
lunch and the mundane side of a Sunday morning.
I come back to my computer and get the best surprise of the day: Wai
questions the message it took me half an hour to analyze. Now I'm starting
to feel at home.

I joined the list when a friend of mine suggested I read Feyerabend's work.
I've started research in my field (teaching simultaneous and consecutive
conference interpretation), published a number of papers, a book, etc. etc.
etc.
The main reason I look to Feyerabend is because at the Department where I
work, there seems to be too many conflicting ideas as to how to go about
doing research, what constitutes a valid experiment, and many other things
I will not bore the list with. Apart from papers on the Internet, I have
not found any of his books in English and would appreciate any web sites
the list may offer where I could read more about the man.

Is this enough as an introduction?

Ciao
