Subject: introduction


Hi. I just signed on here. I am a recent SAIC MFA and am going to the Whitney
Independent Study Program in the fall. I have also been on the editorial
board of P-Form magazine, and will continue to work with P-Form as the NY
editor. My work has largely been in Performance and in developing the almost
non-existant performance theory. I am currently working on several projects
which attempt to address film theory in the light of performance or urban
life, especially Mulvey, DeLauretis, and Silverman. Another section on vision
and space with Mulvey, Vertov, and Henri Lefebvre on the relation of film to
performance and the viewers engagement.
I have also been engaged in a study of Peter Greenaway, (which seems to have
rubbed off as my performance work has been compared to his), Alain Resnais,
Silverman's got me watching Fassbinder, I just picked up Linda Williams
Figures of Desire which has got me watching Bunuel, (and I often suspect that
I became an artist because of  Chien Andelou & Meshes of the Afternoon), also
writing about Marx/Althusser in Blade Runner, recursive structures within
Barton Fink, finished a thing on Lacan/Jaqueline Rose/Juliet Mitcthell in the
Piano, on the back burner is somthing on male subjectivity and identification
in Apacalypse Now. Also interested in Negt and Kluges work.
